Seeding Bika IDs
Sometimes object IDs need to be bumped in the ID server. This is how one does it
Which was the last ID used
The new ID for say Samples must follow on, bigger than, the current last one in order to prevent duplicates which will result in an error messages and disruption in creating new Samples
Note In the ID Server Samples are still called by their classic titles of Analysis Requests, replaced by Samples in Bika Senaite 2
In the ID server, the next IDs to be used are listed per object - Bika setup, ID Server tab:
Next IDs at the bottom of the page, e.g. the next Borehole water sample will get the ID BHW22-0007 as indicated by analysisrequest-BHW: 7
Bumping the ID number
If for example, the borehole sample number must restart at a 100, navigate to the number generator at <your lims address>/ng
Edit the ID in question, and press the [Seed] button at the bottom of the page
The next Borehole water sample will be BHW22-0100
