Creating and Editing Methods

Provide the Method with a unique Method ID and Description in layman terms - this information is made available to lab clients and prospects on the LIMS front page

Creating and maintaining the methods apply per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Analysis Services the lab offers

You may also upload a Method Document, most frequently the SOP itself, describing in in more details

Subcontracted to

When the method is outsourced, select a previously configured supplier who is subcontracted to do the Analysis. If set up, Analyses using the method will be indicated as Subcontracted on COAs

Method Instrument

Earlier you might have configured Instruments and which Methods they are capable of, use the Instrument lookup to assign the method to a specific instrument

Else if the Instrument is not available for selection yet, Methods can also be assigned on the Instrument pages. Save the Method sans its Instruments, Create the Instrument and assign its method

Manual Results Capture

Check this option to allow manual results capture for the method, sans instrument or results import

Method Calculations

You may also select calculations for the Analysis Services using this method. Best to configure Calculations first. More than one Calculation can be selected, and a specific one selected for use on the Analysis Service itself
