Removing Clients
Deactivating Clients and Contacts
Removing Clients
For traceability and database integrity purposes, Clients and Contacts cannot be deleted in Bika, the same as for the LIMS' setup and configuration
When it becomes necessary, say a Client goes into arrears or a Client Contact resigns, they can be deactivated. The object transitions to state Inactive, de-cluttering look-ups and other lists of active Clients and Contacts
Their transaction history stays intact and dormant Clients can be re-activated again when re-instated

Removing Contacts
The same principle is valid for Contacts too
NB Contacts might move between Clients and to protect data privacy, also as admin
- Remove the user for the contact
- Create a new one for him/her at the new employer
Reinstating Dormant Clients
When Clients are reinstated after a period of inactivity, they can be reactivated in the LIMS after relocating them from Inactive lists where they are being kept in the background
All edits on Bika setup items remain traceable and version controlled at all times

Transactional objects
Analysis Requests, Samples and Batches can be cancelled and transitioned to the background in state Cancelled
They maintain their primary workflow states from where they too can be woken up again if needed
Nothing Deleted. Only Deactivated or Cancelled
