Instrument QC

QC. Control Charts for Instruments, Disabling instruments failing QC, Calibration certificate expiry

Control Charts

As with routine Analyses on Worksheets, Instruments are referenced with on QC results via their Reference Samples. The results can be accessed and graphed as Control chart from the Instrument's QC results tab

Also see Quality Control

The green line indicates the expected result value for the analyte in the reference sample, and the red broken lines the permitted lower and upper control limits configured for the Reference Sample used

The results graphed are also displayed in a table and those out of range are highlighted

For a different instrument and simple test data:

The Analysis to be tabled and graphed, the reference sample to use, and the interpolation method to use in the graph can be configured from their corresponding lookups

Instruments are disabled when:

Failing QC

The LIMS disables the Instrument and quarantines routine results on the same Worksheet that cannot be trusted. If configured, it'll also disable the instrument until corrective action has been taken and it passes QC

Users are also warned not to use it for Analyses awaiting results and are advised to use alternative methods while the instrument issues are being dealt with

Calibration Certificate expired

When the LIMS does not find a valid Calibration Certificate for the instrument, it is taken off-line until a fresh certificate has been captured

Undergoing Maintenance

The Instrument is also taken offline while undergoing maintenance and brought back when completed. Ditto Validation
