Bika GSoC 2015 ProjectsAfter reviewing 25 proposals, projects and students were matched. All of the latter have been very active in functional designs and much appreciated bug fixing and feature coding from the Bika tracker, most of it to be seen in imminent Gaob Bika LIMS 3.1.8 release. Welcome guys... this is going to be fun!! Inventory and Supply Chain Management2 Students work on this feature, Aman Aarora and Jayadeep Karnati Bika LIMS already has the basics for Product and Reference Material management and Supply Order functionality, this module will be built out substantially. See the Inventory and Supply Management top level design discussion document. Management Reports. QueriesThe underlying Bika query engine will be rebuilt and optimised using latest Plone functions to provide the LIMS with query and reporting functionality to match the high quality of the rest of the package. SQL back-endBika LIMS uses Plone's powerful Zope object database, the ZODB as default - that is fast, scales, and never breaks - and provides a JSON-API to integrate the system with ERPs etc. Many companion systems use relational databases and labs prefer data in tabular format they can access with their SQL query tools of choice. This project will mirror the ZODB in real time to PostgreSQL. |
