Bika LIMS 3.2 curation
It is almost a year since the previous release of LIMS 3.1.11, too long, but 3.2 is a major release, see the change log. The tracker for the 3.2 release migrates to the Bika Github issue tracker. Ramon is striving to shorten the release cycle, we all want, but perhaps indicative of the amount of Bika development currently under way, capacity could not be found for what is traditionally a thankless, unpaid for, and then overdue task. We received more donations recently - thank you Bill, Mikhail, Bhavik, Ken - which was used to clear up some of the smaller issues blocking 3.2, at the same time bringing new coders through which should help to clear backlogs. Apart from many fixes and smaller improvements, Bika LIMS 3.2 will include a number of new instrument interfaces, a new multi-column COA and Scheduled Sampling. Much new work spawned from current development and customisations nearing completion are in the wings, watch this space. |

Integrating these features requires further sponsorship
In essence, Riding Bytes is sponsoring 3.2's release management. Certified Bika Professional, MD Ramon Bartl, also authored Plone's JSON API applied in Bika. His Bika Commander and Bika Spotlight add-ons use the API for rapid and secure navigation and editing of LIMS data. Thank you Ramon. We wish for many more! |
