Order of Configuration

Regardless whether you do your configuration manually or per import, the logically correct order to build the configuration DB bottom up, will ensure look-ups are correctly populated throughout, and DB integrity be preserved

4.8.1 Online Template

Configurations can be imported in the spreadsheet format provided as a test configuratyion with the code, test.xlsx,  and populated with the lab's own data. Can currently be found at ../master/bika/lims/setupdata/test/test.xlsx. A friendlier and enhanced version is now available as Google sheet

Completing the spreadsheets themselves to perfection will take long too, and best strategy is to use them populated with data already available in tabular format in the lab, load, and then proceed manually through the UI with the final say 30%

Depending on hardware and size of the file, the upload should complete in a few minutes. Test.xlsx loads in 20 - 40 seconds
