10.2 Creating Reference Samples

Reference Results are public by defaultLike with the lab's Methods, Reference Samples and their results may be kept public where legally required or to impress new prospects with. Reference Material is provided by SuppliersReference Samples are maintained in the folders of the Supplier they were acquired from. They have the same structure as used for Clients and their ARs, including of their contact people To create a new Reference Sample, navigate to Suppliers are reached from the Bika setup If the Reference Sample was made up in-house from lab stock itself, a supplier 'In-house' should be created and used in the same way as for external CRM suppliers. Click on the Supplier where the Reference Sample was received from, and navigate to their Reference Samples tab. Supplier's Reference Samples Click on an existing Reference Sample to edit it. In most cases users will be creating new ones as they arrive: press the Add button |
Creating a Reference Sample
Though you could create a Reference Sample from scratch, it is quite likely that you'll have it's specification saved in the system as a Reference Definition. The Reference Sample can easily be created by using these Definitions as template,
Reference SpecificationThe template will populate the Sample's specification, from where it can be edited if necessary

Expiry DateThe expiry date is important, the References Sample are only available for inclusion on Worksheets if they are in stock and have not expired You may also capture the Sample's Lot number, supplier catalogue id, Manufacturer, Hazardous Y/N etc. Control ChartsThese are eventually graphed per individual Reference Sample (lots) - per Analyte and Instrument |
