Installation

Most Bika and Senaite professionals do server installations at discounted prices in order to grow the project. Robust industrial grade server stacks can be a challenge to techs new to Linux, and since the skills are used once only once, it does not hurt to make use of this to get going. Bika Lab Systems, using Cape Town professional rates, provide installations for $1750 at the lab's location of choice, consisting of independent Production and Test/Training instances, done and tested over 2-3 days

The Test and Training instance is used for acceptance and upgrade testing, training, and as e-learning sandbox for new users to uninhibitedly test real life scenarios without interrupting production

Configuration

Big configurations can be done from spreadsheets for big savings, Import setup data in the manual.

Instrument Interfacing 

Not recommended on the long term, but any results exported by instruments as spreadsheet can be massaged into the simple 2D table format used by Bika's generic results importer. Standard conversion spreadsheet books can be maintained - the sheet to be imported looks up the values required, Sample ID, Analysis Keyword and Result, from the raw data copied into a source sheet

LIMS is complex and can be overwhelming, don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. Your feedback is valuable to Bika developers.

Well researched questions, showing that you tried and are not a spoon feeder, attract good replies on the Bika forums, Slack chat, online user forum the Bika Corral, and Issue Tracker.  There are very good guidelines to do effective bug reports. Meaningless 'It is broken' posts get nobody nowhere

Easiest to find answers is to search the manual or BikaLIMS.org (or the world wide web)
